Have you been wanting to try Free Motion Quilting but felt a little intimidated? Join Kelly Ashton for this comprehensive class designed to help you get started with confidence. Kelly begins with the basics and walks you through each step so you’ll understand the process and feel ready to practice on your own.

You’ll stitch on a guided practice panel that introduces a variety of free motion motifs while helping you build skill and confidence along the way. By the end of class, you’ll leave with a stronger understanding of free motion quilting, greater confidence at the machine, and excitement to keep going on your quilting journey.

Supplies list:
Sewing Machine - cleaned, oiled (as needed) and ready to sew, plus bobbins, foot control, power cord, and machine manual. Must be able to lower feed dogs for free motion
Free motion quilting foot for your machine
Walking foot - if you have one. (Note: if a walking foot didn't come with your machine, you may wish to wait until after class to purchase one. Depending on the brand of your sewing machine, they cab be pricey. If you have "dual feed" feature built into your sewing machine AND you have a walking foot, you needn't bring the walking foot to class.
Sewing machine needles - Either Universal tip or Machine Quilting needles size 90/14
Machine quilting gloves (optional, yet recommended)
Continuous line quilting stencil of your choice (recommended to be no larger than for an 8"x8" block) If you have difficulty finding a stencil, Kelly will have a few available for use during class.
Seam ripper
Fabric Scissors
Thread snips
Pen/pencil for notes
