Clear Zippy Cross Body Bag

Need a clear bag to take with you to sporting events and concerts?  Alycia has developed a pattern for this simple Zippy Cross Body bag that fits within the size requirements of most professional and college football, soccer, and baseball stadiums, and  concert venues.   Please check your venue's web site for their specific policy.

Supply List:

16 gauge clear vinyl (11”x23” piece)

1/3 yard of fabric for Zipper Binding, Carrying Strap, Pull Tab, and Carrying Strap Holders.  Zipper binding can also be made with vinyl, cork, or faux leather (2- ½” x 12” pieces).

SF101 interfacing – Optional for Carrying Strap, Pull Tab, and Carrying Strap Holders.  ½ yard will be plenty.

2- 1” triangle rings or D rings

2- 1” swivel snap (hook)

1-      1” slider

1-      1/2” D ring (optional)

14" or longer Bag Zipper (#4.5 or #5 Zipper)

Clips

Rotary Cutter

6" x 24" ruler

Small ruler (6.5” is fine)

Utility scissors (used to trim vinyl and zipper tape)

Thread snips

Scotch Tape for use on presser foot and/or needle plate to help vinyl not stick.  (Optional)

Polyester thread and full bobbin in desired color.   You may want to use thread that match both your zipper and your fabric or that contrast with them, or a thread to match your zipper and another to match your fabric.   Your thread will show through the vinyl seams.

48” (four 12” pieces) Wash away double sided ¼” tape

Mini iron and pressing mat (Optional)

Stiletto

¼” presser foot 

Zipper foot 

90/14 Topstitch sewing machine needle.  Or, you can use a 90/14 Vinyl or Super Non-Stick sewing machine needle. 

Ball point ink pen or vinyl pen used to mark vinyl.  Not gel pen or Sharpie.

Seam ripper and sewing tweezers
