Stitch Sampler

Does your sewing machine have a gazillion stitches that you've never used? How about creating a Stitch Sampler of each type of stitch so you can see how they stitch out and reference that sampler to determine which stitch to use on projects? If so, we have the perfect class for you!  Michelle Elrod will be teaching this fun class and at the end of the day you'll have your sampler in a book format to refer back to.

SUPPLY LIST:

Sewing machine cleaned and oiled with new Topstitch needle

Zig Zag or open toe presser foot

1 ⅔ yd Tone on Tone, Blender or solid color fabric

2 yd of SF 101 Fusible interfacing

Tear away stabilizer

2 yd Steam a Seam 2 or Wonder Under

Polyester 40wt Embroidery thread (Glide or Isacord)

Matching bobbin thread

Disappearing ink fabric pen or chalk marker

Black Ultra Fine Sharpie marker

1 yd half inch wide Grosgrain ribbon to tie pages together

Fabric / SF101 / Stabilizer needed will depend on how many pages it will take to feature stitches on your machine

HOMEWORK TO BE DONE PRIOR TO CLASS:

1.  Cut 4 pieces of fabric 11” high x 10” wide.

2.  Fuse ShapeFlex (SF) 101 to the wrong side of each piece of fabric.

3.  Starting 1.5” from the top, draw a line with a disappearing marker across the 10" side of the fabric.

Continue marking lines every ¾ inch down the length of the fabric.  Do this on all 4 pieces of fabric.  You will need more fabric to complete your book but this will give you a good start on the process.
