The Elemental Coat

Are you as Crazy about Quilt Coats as we are? Then it's time to make one and this one is not only beautiful, but also beginner friendly! Don't worry if you haven't made garments before.  This coat goes together so simply that you don't need any garment sewing experience. We love the versatility of the Elemental Coat.  You can choose to make it from a well-loved quilt, linen, kantha cloth or canvas.  You can also choose the sleeve length and coat length that best suits you.  Teresa will walk you through her pattern and you'll have a great time creating the quilt coat of your dreams!

Supply List:
Sewing Machine in good working order - don't forget your foot pedal and power cord
Elemental Coat pattern
Fabric for coat and binding - based on your size and length selections - see back of pattern for details
Thread - we recommend polyester or dual duty thread
Rotary cutter
Seam ripper
Pins and/or clips
Stiletto - we love the byAnnie Stiletto
and any other favorite sewing notions

Homework:
Determine size and length
Cut out fabric into your pattern pieces - if you need assistance you can wait until class, but if you're confident in your garment sewing ability it will save you time to complete this in advance.
Pre-make your bias binding. You will need approximately 7 yards of binding for your coat.
