My First Quilt Camp

Create, stitch, and finish your very first quilt! In this hands-on camp, young makers will learn the basics of quilting from start to finish, including fabric selection, piecing, pressing, and quilt assembly. Campers will gain confidence using sewing machines while creating a cozy quilt they can be proud of.

A special highlight of this camp is that students will have the opportunity to use our longarm quilting machines to quilt their own projects with instructor guidance. They'll experience the entire quilt-making process and see their creations come to life from the first cut of fabric to the final stitch.

Our sewing camps are designed for kids ages 7–13 and provide a fun, encouraging environment where creativity and sewing skills can grow.

Campers will learn:

• Quilt fabric selection and preparation
• Basic piecing and quilt block construction
• Pressing and sewing machine skills
• Quilt assembly and finishing
• Introductory longarm quilting techniques

By the end of camp, each student will take home a completed quilt and a new set of sewing skills to build on for future projects!

Note: If your child has no sewing experience, they must first complete our Beginner Workshop before coming to camp. This is a 2-hour class in which students learn the basics of the sewing machine. Registration Form: Each parent must complete a registration form for each child they are enrolling at least one week prior to start of class. Print your registration form here, complete and return to patti@kcmakerstudio.com or drop off in the store. 

Lunch/Snacks: Each day, please pack a lunch, light snack and a drink for your child, as we take a 30 minute lunch break, plus short breaks mid-camp.

Discounts:

Multi-week Discount - Register for more than 2 camps and save 5% on additional weeks.
Sibling Discount - Register siblings for the same camp and save 10% on the second enrollment. 

By registering for class, you're agreeing to our cancellation policy. 

Cancellation Policy:

If your child is registered for a camp they cannot attend, the following cancellation policy applies:
1. If, and only if, we are notified at least 7 days prior to the start of camp that your child cannot attend AND we can fill your child’s spot, you may receive a refund.
2. If we are notified at least 7 days prior to the start of camp that your child cannot attend, but we are unable to fill your child’s spot, you may receive a credit for a future class/camp or you may switch your child to a different week.
3. If we are notified less than 7 days prior to the start of camp that your child cannot attend, you forfeit the registration cost. No refunds or credits will be issued.

Make-up Sessions:

Due to the nature of our camps and our student to teacher ratio, we are unable to provide make-up sessions for our summer programs.

Create a custom tote bag while learning sewing machine basics.

June 8–12 – Pillow Power Camp (½ Day)
Make a colorful, scrappy pillow while practicing cutting and piecing.

June 15-19 – Let's Have a Pajama Party Camp (½ Day)
Learn garment sewing while making your own comfy pajamas, eye mask, plus a tote to carry them in.

June 22-26 – My First Quilt Camp (Full Day)
Learn cutting, piecing, and quilting while completing your first cozy quilt.

June 29 – July 3 – Stuffy Factory Camp (½ Day)
Sew their own soft stuffed animal while learning foundational sewing skills. You may even have time to make multiples!

July 6–10 – Accessorize Me (½ Day)
Create a stylish bag and fun accessories for your wardrobe. Perfect for the Fashionista!

July 13–17 – My First Quilt Camp (Full Day)
Learn cutting, piecing, and quilting while completing your first cozy quilt.

July 20–24 – Sew & Go Crossbody Bag Camp (½ Day)
Sew a stylish crossbody bag and learn bag construction. Perfect for taking on-the-go!

July 27–31 – Runway Ready Camp (½ Day)
Make a cute sundress with a matching bow or scrunchie and be runway ready!

Requirements:	Must provide own sewing tool kit.
